Menu items management

Adding, updating, and retiring dishes takes just a few clicks — no coding needed.

  1. Click Restaurant in the sidebar.
  2. Click Menu Items.
  3. Click + New.
  4. Fill in the fields below.
  5. Click Save.

Name — What the dish is called on your menu.
Price — How much you charge for this item.
Priority — A number that controls where this item appears among others (lower numbers show first).
Category — Group the dish under one or more categories, e.g. Appetizer, Main Course.
Ingredients/Allergens — Flag any allergens so customers can order safely.
Mealtime — Choose when customers can order this dish, e.g. breakfast or lunch. Manage your mealtimes under Restaurant > Mealtimes.
Location(s) — Pick which of your restaurant locations sell this item.
Minimum Quantity — The smallest amount a customer can order at once.
Stock Quantity — How many you currently have available.
Order Restriction — Limit the item to Delivery or Pick-up orders only, if needed.
Description — A short, appetizing description of the dish.
Image — Upload a photo to make the dish stand out.
Status — Turn this on to show the item on your website, or off to hide it.

Tip: Want TastyIgniter to keep track of how much you have left automatically? Click the ••• menu next to Stock Quantity, choose Manage Stock, then turn on Track Stock. From then on, every order will subtract from your stock count for you.

  1. Click Restaurant > Menu Items.
  2. Click the pencil icon next to the item you want to change.
  3. Make your changes and click Save.

To take a dish off your website without deleting it, open it and switch Status to disabled.

  1. Open the menu item you want to discount.
  2. Click the Specials tab.
  3. Choose a Special Type — Fixed Amount or Percentage.
  4. Enter the Special Price.
  5. Choose how long the special runs under Validity.
  6. Turn on Special Status and click Save.

Note: You can turn Special Status off at any time to end a special early.
