Setting the website language

Serving customers in more than one language helps you reach a wider audience.

  1. Click Manage in the sidebar.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Languages.
  4. Click the pencil icon next to the language you want.
  5. Turn on Status, then click Save.

Click the star icon next to a language to make it your site's default.

  1. Click Manage > Settings > Languages.
  2. Click + New.
  3. Enter a Name and Locale Code.
  4. Turn on Status and click Save.

Tip: Use a full locale code like fr_FR rather than just fr — it needs to match your locale directory exactly.

Note: Want customers to automatically see your site in their own browser's language? Turn on Detect Browser Language under Manage > Settings > General > Localization.
